We lost the stern anchor when pulling out of Decatur Al. Sept. '14. The Port of Evansville has held onto it until this week.  Evansville Marine helped this project and pulled out the cable and delivered the anchor on a barge.

Vernon Systems truck barely fit within the gangway.

They were able to secure the swedge to the anchor cable using epoxy.

The cable has clearly seen better days and needs lubrication.

The cable had to be strung across the barge to pull out enough line to attach the anchor.

Without the anchor attached, the cable lays limp on the deck.

After the break in the cable, the cable became twisted from the backlash.

The anchor was delivered by Evansville Marine Systems.

Evansville Marine also used their tug to pull out the cable to untwist and re-spool it.

John Engstrom and Herb Quick man the winch.

The barge with the anchor is brought along the starboard side for attachment.

After the anchor was attached they brought the barge around the stern to pull the anchor in place.
