Today finds the USS LST 325 right outside Morgan City, LA by Houma.  We passed through Leland Bowman Lock last night with a fair tide, (following current), without touching the sides of the lock; gates were open.  What is ahead today...Mud Lake Wiggles. The GIWW (MM 123) (Gulf Intracoastal Waterway West Closure Complex) snakes back and forth, so the river pilots call these "the wiggles". Ahead also is the great Atchafalaya River Junction (MM 99).  At MM 102 the ship will enter the U.S. Coast Guards Vessel Traffic Service (VTS) similar to Air Traffic Control. The ship will check-in with VTS at the MM 102 and check out at MM 93 as they exit the Bayou Boeuf Lock.

Weather: 0500 CST T 40 degrees F, D/P 33 degrees, Wind NW 10 mph, 1300 High 54 degrees, Winds N-NW 15 mph. BT. AR K

During a cruise, the crew quarters aren't show quality but better than expected.
