As mentioned in Captain Jornlin's 4th Update, we are receiving a generous donation of parts and repairs from Evac Marine for our ORCA (waste management). This comes along with the news that the ship should be floating by 14th and that the metal behind the Ice Breaker is in good shape. Great news when we thought that only the necessary repairs could be over $2,000,000. Although the repairs are going to be less than anticipated there are still many things to be done outside of dry dock and we will have exhausted a large portion of our funds upon our return to Evansville, Indiana.
Thank you to all those who made it possible to save a ship from the scrap yard, to bring her back to life, and for preserving her for the future. Thank you. We would not have been able to come as far as we have without the support from our Volunteers, Members, Donors and Corporate Sponsors. We are completely Not For Profit. That means that our Board Members aren't paid, we don't have Share Holders, and we are NOT funded by the government. We currently have a Matching Grant from the Save America's Treasures Fund from the National Park Service to clean and seal our Ballast Tanks and to remove our Ice Breaker.
Please visit our Donate page for more information on ways you can help preserve the USS LST 325!
