January 10th, 2001 marked an auspicious day for LST veterans everywhere. 29 men sailed a 58 year old vessel across the Atlantic Ocean against every odd they could face and docked in Mobile Alabama. That crew is fondly called the Gold Crew. Check out their picture here and read Captain Jornlin's personal account of the voyage here.
Below is a picture of how the LST 325 looked upon her arrival in Mobile. The second picture is the ship last year leaving Pittsburgh Pennsylvania.
