DUKW Update

For a long while we have had a few volunteers dedicated to working on restoring a DUKW.  We have pictures to report and progress to show.  She still needs much more done, but we seen one that was restored only on the outside go for $97,000.  A fully operational DUKW is definitely worth the time and effort of everyone involved.  Thank you!

Larry Godert is our principal volunteer on this project.  Terry Tull and Dee Churchwell have been making several trips to help Larry.

Everything was rusted and needed redone.

They've rebuilt:
Brake Cylinder x 3 axles
Transfer Case x 2
Winch
Fuel Tank

They've replaced:
Wheel bearings
Ring Gear and Piston on Rear Axle
Brake Lines
Master Cylinder
Brake Booster
Brake Shoes

To do the repairs the engine and transmission had to be removed.

They are working to replace the entire hull.

You can see how bad the rust had gotten.

Now we're showing progress!
