Rain most of the day Wednesday. Yesterday and the next couple of days OK. Rain for Monday. Work moved inside Wednesday and a lot of little things got done. Yesterday we had people in two center voids scraping and cleaning out rust, scale, water etc. We have asked for two tanks to be cleaned and painted w/sealer that binds to rust. No need to sandblast just get the loose rust off. This will help us get to the point of all tanks being preserved.
Today the proppelers are to be back from Texas Wheel Works. Looking forward to the work being done on the bearings, and we will be sort of back to getting underway! The Beak has been closed in, hinges on ramp fixed, working on closing some of the old overboard pipe openings on the exterior of ship. Fixing some vent pipes that have rusted away. Also fixing a hole under starter air tanks, which we found when putting tanks back after drain to shaft alley was closed. Last night the Southern Sand blasters were at it -- in sanding the hull -- 25% to shinny metal (where it is needed) and the rest a sweep to remove anti-fowling paint. I am getting replaced by our Treasurer, Terry Tull, on Saturday. The two men on a short leave are back! So we are back to 10 strong. I am looking foreward to a break, but will be available if needed. Capt. Bob
