Come out and visit the USS LST 325, we have lots of great new displays!
James "Sarge" Goodall's display of a Sherman Tank, in particular the Cobra King. The Cobra King was in Vilseck, Germany outside of the Rose Barracks back gate. It's identity as the first tank in Bastogne during the Battle of the Buldge was proven in 2004. Cobra King was shipped back to the states and was refurbished by the Patton Museum and is awaiting a permanent home for display.
The 'Cobra King' crew -- 1st Lt. Charles Boggess, Cpl. Milton Dickerman and Pvts. James G. Murphy, Hubert S. Smith and Harold Hafner -- pose for a celebratory photo in the vicinity of Bastogne, Belgium shortly after the tankers led the armor and infantry column that liberated the city in December 1944.
