We are really progressing with preparations for departure on Sunday at 5:00 p.m.  Today we put LCVP #2 into the davits for travel.

This requires a few guys to help secure and watch lines, and 1 Herb in the boat to attach chains.

John Engstrom seen operating the controls.

Pretty smooth operation of the davits and no injuries.

Now, here is where it's real tough.  The motor has a limiter on it to prevent the LCVP from going too far up and causing damage to the lcvp and the davits.  This means that the last 3-4 inches are hand cranked.

This is very hard to watch, much harder to do.

Once they have the LCVP at the top, a pin locks the LCVP in place.

There is an identical pin on the other side.

The controls for this equipment look original and are still in great shape.

This is the front side you didn't see in the above hand cranked pictures.
