In 2012 we received the remaining funds from the Illinios LST Association as they were disbanding. Through many discussions on what to do with the funds, it was decided that they be used to remodel the Officer's Ward Room. This is where our volunteers spend their precious free time while on cruises. Meals and meetings are also held here, not to mention that it is on the tour route.
You can see where we are cleaning the Ward Room out and removing all the additional parts added to the room after she was built.
We have decided to leave the drop ceiling, the wood paneling, and the tile floor.
The ceiling will have new panels installed that look like metal.
The floor will be stripped and waxed.
The wood paneling is being scraped and refinished.
There will be new couches, re-upholstered Navy chairs, and flat screen television, and a new table.
We look forward to the updates and making the Ward Room the new showpiece of Officer's Country. A big Thank You to all of those involved with clearing, cleaning, and the hard work going into this remodel.
