Toyota volunteers were at the ship today! Wow, look at the busy bees working hard. They are in full swarm.

The volunteers even brought their kids down to help paint.

Several local volunteers also came to help with ship maintenance.

Thank you to all our volunteers for making this a very productive day.

Today Altek was able to get the Anchor Windless Motor up to the overhead and attached. It is still being supported by a 4x4 and a jack to prevent an accident. There is still a seal to be installed and I'm told it requires the Capstan to be taken apart.

Let's try this again. The Anchor Windless Motor is ridiculously heavy. While the ship was still commissioned and this motor needed to be repaired, it was man handled by the men aboard ship. But that's why Altek brought a Come Along (pulley type system). Between the engine hoist and the come along, they were able to get it over the bulkhead and into the compartment. They started raising it before I was able to steel a picture.

Here you can see that this motor has to be affixed to the overhead and this is tricky business. They called it a day and will start again tomorrow.

After many months of work, Altek was able to refurbish the Anchor Windless Motor and started installing it today.

We had to take a break here for a bit to find a longer chain to lower the motor down the stairs.

Now the question is how to get it over the bulkhead into the forward Door Operation Machinery room.

Decided to call it a day as it was 3:30pm. and we still hadn't figured out how to get it over the bulkhead.
